GIRLFORCE: UNSCRIPTED AND UNSTOPPABLE

Let’s be honest, a girl child should be celebrated all day, everyday although there’s a special day dedicated for that (11th October, which is the International Day for girl child) which gives us even more reasons to celebrate, treasure and lift them up all around the world.

25years ago, 30,000 men and women from over 200 nations converged in Beijing China for the 4th world Conference on Women and determined to recognize the rights of women and girls as human rights.
Since 2012, October 11 has been set aside as the International Day of the Girl Child, the essence of this day is to highlight and address the needs and challenges  faced by the girl child, while promoting empowerment of the girl child and the fulfillment of their human rights.

According to the United Nations, "the day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights."
This year, the UN's theme for the day is *”GirlForce: Unscripted and unstoppable,”*
UN Secretary-general, Antonio Guttere puts it _“we need to uphold the equal rights, voices and influence of girls in our families, communities and nations. Girls can be powerful agents of change and nothing should keep them from participating fully in all areas of life”._

Today, issues such as child marriage, girl child education, inequality, gender based violence, climate change, self-esteem and girls rights needs to be address.
Inspite of these challenges, some are soaring as eagles to become force girls in countries like: Samar and Yara from Lebanon. There are two girls applying innovative and entrepreneurial skills in solving mobility challenges  for women in Lebanon through the idea of introducing women- only taxi services.

Today, girls are moving from dreaming to achievements, more are attending and completing schools, some have become professionals in their careers, some are leaders while still children, more are getting skills they need to Excel in the future world of work. Girls are breaking boundaries and barriers posed by stereotypes and exclusion, including those targeted children with disabilities.
As entrepreneurs, innovators and initiators of global movement, girls are leading and fostering a world that is relevant for them in the future.
The girls and young women in the global community remain an unstoppable Force for social change, unstoppable for innovations, unstoppable for financial emancipation and unstoppable for political freedom and participation.

Girls and young women are a force in our society. They possess great characteristics for social change. They are creative, they are talented, they are incredible change movers, they are determined to make things happen, they should be given more rights, education and opportunities to function as they’re have great potentials to help build the world they wish to see.
Indeed, our girls are unscripted and unstoppable in the mist of difficult challenges,
Today I encourage every girl child to be a voice, to be extraordinary, to be super.
_Yes! we are UNSCRIPTED and UNSTOPPABLE_.
